Growing up I remember watching the Back to the Future movies with my brothers and sister over and over again. I’m talking hundreds of times, and the Air Mag and Hover Board scene, thousands of times might be more accurate.

Aside from the connection with childhood, my grandpa passed away from Parkinson’s, the same disease that Nike and Michael J Fox suffers from.The fact that they raised money for with the Nike Air Mag auctions made it that much more personal for me.

Throw in the fact that Brian Wilson wore them during a Giants game and my picture was RT’ed all over the internet. It was a pretty special release for me.

Following all of the auctions on eBay and the @AirMag Twitter it was clear I would never be able to afford a pair of these shoes but I am happy that Nike raised money for battling Parkinson’s. It really made this release special to me beyond anything. Then a few weeks ago the @AirMag Twitter account asked who they should follow and they followed me. That made for a pretty nice alternative to not getting a pair of the shoes.
