For anyone that grew up listening to hip-hop (or even Aerosmith), the release of this special edition adidas Superstar is a must have. Run DMC made “Shell Toes” relevant for many of us in this generation. The timeless style, superb quality of materials used and the gold chain lace accessories made these must haves at any price in my opinion.
The fact that adidas Originals continues to recognize the influence and the importance of not only their music, but the style that they helped make a staple during the eighties, is something that I think is very commendable. When other companies are using album art without paying royalties, or changing the names of retro silhouettes to avoid paying those deserved royalties, the partnership between adidas Originals and Run DMC is an example of a mutual respect between icons.
There were a lot of creative ways that the adidas Originals x Jam Master Jay Superstar 80s were shown by the people that received them but I thought the way SneakerboxClyde’s video and photos in the recording studio was one of the best, so I ended up purchasing my pair from him at Mr. R Sports.
