The Under Armour Prototype II “Double Nickel” is one of my favorite shoes of 2011 because it embodies one of the most important things about sneakers, what the person they were made for does in them.

No matter what sport or athlete, my memories of shoes are closely tied to what kind of performance happened in the shoes. Not to say that I don’t enjoy some creative designs inspired by a place, product, or some other tie in, we all get hyped on our own things. But, seeing someone accomplish something amazing in a pair of shoes, will always out weigh the hype for me.

Brandon Jennings dropping 55 points in the UA Prototype II, and the fact that the shoes came out to commemorate that accomplishment, made these pretty special.

I’m a big fan of the UA basketball line because the designs have a very 1990′s And 1 type of feel.
