Name: Chadio aka Sneaker Galactus LOL Hobbies: Basketball, making money. Fav Brands: Nike, Jordan, Adidas, Converse, NB, Asics. I rep my family all day!

How long have you been into sneakers?

Hmmm… I hear lot so people say since they were little but it’s honestly true with me. Anyone who has known me at anytime in my life beginning with Nursery school knows how I got down with kicks. I was fond of a fresh pair of sneaks even before I was collecting them consciously!

Most vivid memory of a particular shoe and/or story behind it? 

I’m gonna go with the first pair of Jordans I ever got…the Jordan III in a kids size of course. I was entering the third grade, had to have em and my mom went everywhere until we found a pair at Buster Brown’s in Jamaica Queens. I know I’m dating myself because the store no longer exists LOL

I would rather call them “sneaker enthusiasts”. The term “sneakerhead” is a derogatory term if you ask me. I reference “sneakerhead” to “crackhead” or “methhead”. It means to me that these types of people cannot function without their sneaker fix.

What is considered a “Grail” to you? Do you have one? Have it in your collection?

To me a grail is a shoe that exists but your chances of actually getting a pair are slim to none. I do have a grail and no I do not have it in my collection. Hopefully one day….

Quantity or quality? Why? 

Quality always for me! Why buy a bunch of stuff that is ok for right now, but you might not like it 2 months from now. I work hard for the money I earn and it is important that I feel it was worth the money every time I pull a pair out the box!

What’s one thing you would like to change or fix in the sneaker culture? 

There are a lot of things I would love to change in sneaker culture but if I had to settle on one thing it would be this: The elitism has got to stop. If this is going to be a culture that is going to stand the test of time, everyone has to respect each other. All that truly matters is if you truly love the kicks! Whether you just got into sneakers or you are a lifer should make no difference. This culure should be more about the people than the shoes and that what we’re missing. Look a t the big picture!
